Welcome to MyCVCreator.com ("My CV Creator," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, applications, products, and related tools, including our resume and cover-letter builders, artificial-intelligence features, interview-preparation tools, career content, job-matching features, Talent Network, and other services (collectively, the "Services").
By creating an account, purchasing a Service, or otherwise accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Services.
1. Eligibility and Acceptance
You may use the Services only if you are at least 16 years old. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Services only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Certain features, including some employment, payment, or Talent Network features, may be limited to users who are at least 18 years old or have otherwise reached the age of legal majority in their location.
By using the Services, you represent that:
you have the legal capacity and authority required to agree to these Terms;
the information you provide is accurate and does not impersonate or misrepresent another person;
you will comply with these Terms and applicable laws; and
you have read our Privacy Policy.
If you use the Services for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.
2. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, our business, partnerships, or applicable law. We will post the revised Terms with an updated date and provide additional notice when required.
If a change materially affects your rights, we may provide advance notice. Your continued use after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them, except where applicable law requires affirmative consent. A change to these Terms does not automatically enroll you in the Talent Network or authorize a disclosure of personal information that requires separate consent.
3. Services
My CV Creator offers tools and services that may include:
AI-assisted resume and CV creation;
cover-letter and professional-content generation;
resume analysis, proofreading, parsing, and optimization;
interview preparation, recording, feedback, and assessment tools;
career guidance and educational content;
resume-to-website and professional-profile features;
job discovery, matching, and referral features;
the optional MyCVCreator Talent Network;
premium writing, editing, and career-support services; and
employer, recruiter, partner, and API services.
Some Services require an account, payment, separate agreement, or acceptance of additional terms. We may improve, modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue a feature. Where reasonably practicable and legally required, we will provide notice of a material discontinuation affecting a paid Service.
4. Accounts and Security
You agree to:
provide accurate, current, and complete account information;
maintain and promptly update your information;
keep your password, verification codes, and login credentials confidential;
use reasonable security practices for your devices and account;
not share or transfer your account without permission; and
notify us promptly at support@mycvcreator.com if you suspect unauthorized access, misuse, or a security incident.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account to the extent permitted by law. We may require identity or account verification before restoring access, processing a sensitive request, or disclosing account information.
5. User Content
"User Content" means resumes, CVs, cover letters, profile information, employment history, education, skills, documents, images, audio, video, interview responses, prompts, text, and other materials you upload, enter, generate, or submit through the Services.
You retain any rights you have in your User Content. You grant My CV Creator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, process, analyze, transmit, display, and otherwise use User Content only as reasonably necessary to:
provide and operate the Services you request;
generate and maintain your documents and account content;
prevent fraud and protect the Services;
comply with law and enforce these Terms; and
provide optional Talent Network services when you have enabled them.
This license ends when the relevant User Content is deleted, except where continued retention is required by law, reasonably necessary for security or dispute resolution, or technically required for limited backup cycles.
You represent that you own or have permission to use your User Content and that our permitted processing of it will not violate another person's rights or applicable law.
6. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Services to:
violate any law, regulation, sanction, court order, or third-party right;
impersonate another person or misrepresent qualifications, employment, education, identity, or authorization;
create fraudulent applications or submit materially false information;
upload malware, harmful code, or content designed to disrupt or compromise systems;
probe, scan, circumvent, or interfere with security or access controls;
reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law expressly permits it;
scrape, crawl, harvest, index, or access the Services through unauthorized automated means;
obtain or attempt to obtain another user's personal information without authorization;
use personal information for discrimination, harassment, surveillance, identity theft, unsolicited marketing, or unrelated purposes;
upload unlawful, defamatory, threatening, deceptive, discriminatory, obscene, or infringing content;
overload, disrupt, or degrade the Services;
resell, sublicense, copy, or commercially exploit the Services, templates, or platform without written permission; or
help another person engage in prohibited conduct.
We may investigate suspected violations and suspend, restrict, or terminate access where reasonably necessary.
7. Artificial Intelligence and Generated Content
The Services may use artificial intelligence supplied by us or contracted service providers to generate, analyze, improve, or recommend content.
You understand and agree that:
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or unsuitable;
you must review and verify all generated content before relying on or submitting it;
you are responsible for the accuracy and legality of information used in applications or communications;
similar or identical outputs may be generated for other users;
AI outputs do not constitute legal, financial, immigration, recruitment, or other professional advice; and
use of the Services does not guarantee interviews, employment, admission, promotion, or any other outcome.
As between you and My CV Creator, and to the extent permitted by law, you may use outputs generated specifically for you for lawful personal and professional purposes. We assign to you any rights we may have in those outputs. This does not transfer ownership of our platform, software, templates, branding, underlying models, or other intellectual property. Copyright or exclusivity in AI-generated material may not be recognized in every jurisdiction.
Our handling of prompts, User Content, and AI processing is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. MyCVCreator Talent Network
8.1 Voluntary participation
The MyCVCreator Talent Network is an optional service through which participating users may be considered for employment opportunities from verified employers, staffing firms, recruitment agencies, and other recruitment partners ("Recruitment Partners"). You will not be enrolled merely because you use our resume tools or accept these Terms.
Where consent is required, you must actively opt in. You may manage your visibility, pause your profile, decline an introduction, or withdraw from the Talent Network using available account settings or by contacting support@mycvcreator.com.
8.2 Matching and anonymous profiles
We may use software, algorithms, and artificial intelligence to compare participating profiles with active job requirements. Recruitment Partners may initially receive limited, anonymous, or pseudonymized professional summaries. A summary may include job-related information such as experience, education, skills, qualifications, location preferences, work authorization, or availability while excluding direct contact details.
8.3 Introductions and profile disclosure
If a Recruitment Partner identifies a potential match, it may request additional information or an introduction. Depending on your account controls and the authorization presented to you, we may notify you and request approval before disclosing your identity, contact information, or complete resume.
You may reject an introduction without losing access to our general Services. Participation does not guarantee that you will be contacted, interviewed, selected, or hired.
8.4 Recruitment Partner compensation
My CV Creator may charge Recruitment Partners integration fees, subscription fees, API fees, profile-access fees, referral fees, placement fees, or other charges for recruitment technology, matching, introductions, and related services. Payment to My CV Creator does not transfer ownership of your personal information to a Recruitment Partner or permit use for unrelated purposes.
8.5 Relationship with Recruitment Partners
Recruitment Partners are responsible for their job opportunities, communications, screening, interviews, offers, hiring decisions, employment terms, and compliance with employment and privacy laws. Unless expressly stated, My CV Creator is not the employer, recruitment agency, or agent of either party and is not a party to any employment agreement.
You should independently verify job opportunities and Recruitment Partners. Do not send money, passwords, verification codes, or unnecessary financial information to anyone offering employment. Report suspicious recruitment activity to support@mycvcreator.com.
9. Recruiter, Employer, and API Use
This section applies in addition to any separate partner or API agreement if you use the Services as a recruiter, employer, staffing provider, recruitment agency, data recipient, or integration partner.
You agree to:
access candidate information only for a specific, genuine, active employment opportunity;
use only the minimum information necessary for that opportunity;
honor candidate choices, withdrawals, deletions, and communication preferences;
maintain appropriate privacy, confidentiality, and security safeguards;
comply with employment, anti-discrimination, data-protection, and marketing laws;
keep complete and accurate records of authorized access and use;
notify My CV Creator promptly of suspected unauthorized access or a security incident;
delete or return candidate information when no longer required, subject to lawful retention duties; and
comply with API documentation, access limits, audit requirements, and instructions.
You must not:
scrape, harvest, bulk-download, or build an independent database from candidate information;
access information without a genuine hiring requirement;
sell, sublicense, disclose, enrich, or repurpose candidate information;
contact candidates for unrelated roles, marketing, financial products, or other purposes without appropriate authorization;
use sensitive or protected characteristics to discriminate unlawfully;
attempt to re-identify anonymous profiles except through an authorized MyCVCreator process;
share API credentials or circumvent rate limits, approval controls, or access restrictions; or
retain information beyond the authorized purpose or agreed retention period.
We may monitor and audit partner access, restrict profile availability, revoke credentials, suspend integrations, and terminate access for suspected misuse. A separate written agreement controls if it expressly conflicts with this section.
10. Payments, Subscriptions, and Renewals
Certain Services are available through one-time purchases, subscriptions, usage-based fees, or separately agreed commercial charges. Prices, billing frequency, renewal terms, taxes, and included features will be disclosed at checkout or in an applicable order form.
By purchasing a Service, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge the payment method you provide for the disclosed amounts. You agree to provide current and accurate billing information and pay applicable taxes and fees.
If a subscription is described at checkout as automatically renewing, it will renew for the disclosed period until canceled. We will provide renewal notices where required by law. You may cancel using available account controls or by contacting support@mycvcreator.com. Cancellation ordinarily prevents future renewals and does not retroactively refund charges already incurred unless required by law or our Refund Policy.
Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy displayed on our website or at checkout and any mandatory consumer rights. Failure to use a purchased Service does not automatically create a right to a refund.
We may change prices prospectively. Price changes to renewing subscriptions will take effect after any notice required by law. We may suspend paid features when a payment is overdue, reversed, disputed, or unsuccessful.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information and how users may exercise privacy rights.
Our processing may be subject to laws including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the UK General Data Protection Regulation, applicable Canadian privacy laws, and applicable United States state privacy laws. The law that applies depends on factors such as location, eligibility thresholds, and the processing involved.
If these Terms conflict with the Privacy Policy concerning our processing of personal information, the Privacy Policy controls for that issue.
12. Intellectual Property
The Services including our software, source code, technology, interfaces, designs, templates, workflows, databases, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and other materials are owned by or licensed to My CV Creator and are protected by intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Services for lawful personal and professional purposes. This license does not authorize you to copy, sell, redistribute, sublicense, reverse engineer, create a competing service from, or commercially exploit the Services or our intellectual property.
You may use resumes, cover letters, and other documents you create through the Services for job applications, career development, professional promotion, and other lawful personal or professional purposes. You may not resell or redistribute our underlying templates, software, or platform assets as standalone products.
"My CV Creator," "MyCVCreator," our logos, and related branding are our trademarks or trade dress. No rights are granted except as expressly stated.
13. Feedback
If you voluntarily submit ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the Services, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation. This does not give us ownership of your resumes or other User Content.
14. Third-Party Services and Opportunities
The Services may integrate with or link to payment processors, employers, Recruitment Partners, job boards, AI providers, analytics providers, or other third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, content, products, availability, security, privacy practices, recruitment decisions, or contractual promises.
Links, integrations, or job listings do not necessarily constitute endorsement. Your use of a third-party service may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.
15. Copyright Complaints
If you believe content available through the Services infringes your copyright, email support@mycvcreator.com with:
identification of the copyrighted work;
identification and location of the allegedly infringing material;
your name and contact information;
a statement explaining your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized;
a statement that the information you provide is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and
your physical or electronic signature.
If United States law applies, we may process a compliant notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Knowingly submitting a false claim may expose you to liability.
16. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. You may request account deletion subject to our Privacy Policy, legal retention requirements, and outstanding obligations.
We may suspend, limit, or terminate access if we reasonably believe that:
you violated these Terms or applicable law;
your activity creates security, legal, reputational, or operational risk;
your account is fraudulent, abusive, or being used without authorization;
payment is overdue or reversed; or
suspension is necessary to protect users, third parties, or the Services.
Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limitations, indemnity, and dispute provisions will survive.
17. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." My CV Creator disclaims express, implied, and statutory warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and security.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or suitable for every purpose; that defects will always be corrected; or that generated content, job matches, recruiter information, assessments, or career guidance will be accurate or produce a particular result.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, My CV Creator and its officers, employees, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunities, or employment opportunities arising from or related to the Services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of:
the amount you paid to My CV Creator for the affected Services during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
US$100.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including where applicable liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations, so some provisions may not apply to you.
19. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless My CV Creator and its officers, employees, affiliates, and agents from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, penalties, and reasonable costs arising from:
your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Services;
your User Content;
your material violation of these Terms; or
your infringement or violation of another person's rights.
This obligation does not require a consumer to indemnify us for our own unlawful conduct, negligence, or breach of these Terms, and it applies only to the extent enforceable under applicable law.
20. Informal Dispute Resolution
Before commencing formal proceedings, you and My CV Creator agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute. A party initiating a dispute should send written notice describing the issue, supporting facts, and requested resolution to support@mycvcreator.com.
The receiving party will have 30 days to respond, unless urgent relief is reasonably necessary or applicable law allows immediate filing.
21. Governing Law and Courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Subject to any mandatory consumer rights and any separate written agreement applicable to business or recruitment partners, the courts with competent jurisdiction in Abuja, Nigeria will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.
If you are a consumer, nothing in this section deprives you of mandatory protections or the right to bring a claim in another forum where applicable law does not permit that right to be waived.
Any arbitration arrangement with a Recruitment Partner, employer, or other business customer must be stated in the applicable written commercial agreement. These general Terms do not require individual consumers to use International Chamber of Commerce arbitration.
22. General Terms
Entire agreement: These Terms, the Privacy Policy, any applicable order form, and any additional terms presented for a Service constitute the agreement concerning that Service.
Order of precedence: A signed commercial agreement or order form controls over these Terms to the extent it expressly states a conflict.
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
Severability: If a provision is held unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
No agency: These Terms do not create an employment, partnership, joint venture, franchise, or agency relationship between you and My CV Creator.
Electronic communications: You agree that notices and records may be provided electronically where permitted by law.
Headings: Headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
